If you want to start an exercise program then you probably already know that the market place is overloaded with physical training instructors who promote a wide variety of cardio vascular exercises for every part of the body. The videos usually involve a ripped professional leading a class of high-performance athletes through an intense exercise routine that smashes them to pieces in 20 to 40 minutes. Right?

Don’t get us wrong, these programs are a great form of physical exercise and we highly recommend them if you’re already fit and strong. But, if you’re unfit, weak or unwell these programs are inappropriate for you.
The old adage “no pain, no gain” is pure nonsense. You can get fit, build strength, develop stamina, tone your muscles, improve your coordination, and lose weight without panting, wheezing, sweating, or hurting yourself. It’s time to say goodbye to those frenetic gym sessions that leave you hyped up, loaded with adrenaline, and aching all over. HJX will give you a full body workout but you’ll feel calm, centred, and energized afterwards. HJX is a new, exciting and progressive form of exercise that is performed individually, or in a group. It's easy to learn, fun to do, and great for your health. Unlike other exercise programs, HJX integrates mindfulness. (This is its key differentiator!) 

Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, which is often lost whilst doing exhausting cardio-vascular exercise. (Especially by newbies!)

The HJX workout routine comprises of 12 Movements. They are learned by heart and practiced in sequence for a full body workout. Each of the Movements combine these 4 elements: 
– Movement, Balance, Strength, and Control - 
 

Each Movement is made up of a sequential series of motion exercises and poses. They are first performed on the left side of the body and then the right side, which is referred to as 1 cycle.  You can do as many cycles in a Movement as you see fit. 

The secret ingredients of HJX as you'll soon discover when you sign up for this Challenge are: Being in the present moment, your breath, efficiency, and effortlessness. 

HJX was developed by Peter Stephen Shrimpton, author of The Healing Chronicles of Henry Jones.  His goal was to create a gentle, manageable, and therapeutic way for people who are sick to get into the essential habit of exercising on their healing journey. However, the modality soon spread to their care-givers and family members, and then it went viral on the internet. Today, it's practiced by all - young and old, sick and healthy,  couch-potatoes and top athletes.  HJX is for everyone!

  • Start each day by waking up to see the sunrise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do HJX if I am sick?

HJX is a mild exercise class that is suitable for fitness beginners. However, if you are concerned about your health please consult your medical practitioner before doing this Challenge.

Do you provide remote coaching or training?

Unfortunately, coaching is not offered for HJX unless in a group Challenge. 

How do groups work?

We set a common Start-Date and commit to doing the Challenges together.  We meet online - using Zoom (our preferred platform).  

How can I join a group?

Visit our Events page to confirm our next Start Date. Space is limited. A maximum of 20 people embark on an HJX Journey together, so that we can provide everyone with the personal attention they deserve. You may have to put your name on our waiting list.
